Basil Joseph born in Sultan Bathery, India, is a film director, actor, scriptwriter who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. He has worked as the assistant director for the Malayalam movie Thira, and then debuted as the director for the 2015 movie Kunjiramayanam. He got married to his longtime girlfriend and classmate Elizabeth Samuel.
He has also acted in the movies Up & Down: Mukalil Oralundu, Homely Meals and Kunjiramayanam. His 2017 directorial venture includes the Malayalam movie Godha. In 2018, Basil was part of Rafeek Ibrahim`s directorial debut, Padayottam and Nithyaharitha Nayagan. His 2019 credits include Kakshi Amminippilla, Manoharam and Kettiyolaanu Ente Malakha. His 2020 release includes Gauthamante Radham.
His third film Minnal Murali has Tovino Thomas plays the role of a homegrown hero with super powers.T he movie which was announced in 2020 is noted for first-ever superhero film of the malayalam film industry and will have a simultaneous release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages.
