Ramya Suvi, a dancer based in Thrissur, has roots in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. She graduated and obtained a post-graduate degree in Bharatnatyam from Kaladi Sree Sankara Sanskrit University. Ramya’s focus was solely on incorporating “abhinaya” into her dance and never considered a career in films. However, she made her screen debut as Mammootty’s leading lady in the film “Pazhani.” She initially auditioned for a small role and was surprised to be cast as the lead. Despite having limited experience, Ramya learned on set and was inspired by the poems of Bharathiyar and Sujatha stories she heard from her Tamilian mother.
Her recent movie is ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ with Mammotty in the lead.
