Tania Bhatia

Taniya Bhatia is an Indian cricketer, who predominantly plays as a wicket-keeper for Punjab and North Zone. At the age of 11, she became one of the youngest girls to start her cricket career and represent Punjab in the U19 team. She is also the first woman cricketer from Chandigarh to be a part of the national team. The International Cricket Council named Taniya Bhatia as one of the five breakout stars in women’s cricket in 2018.

Taniya began her International Career by playing for Women’s Twenty20 International cricket (WT20I) debut for India Women against South Africa Women on 13 February 2018. She was named in India’s squad for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 tournament in the West Indies (Oct 2018) and was named in India’s squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia (January 2020).

Taniya was named in India’s Test squad for their one-off match against the England women’s cricket team (May 2021). She also made her Test debut on 16 June 2021, for India against England.
