Tovino Thomas is an Indian actor and former model who appears in Malayalam cinema. He made his debut in 2012 with the Malayalam film Prabhuvinte Makkal. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Ennu Ninte Moideen.
Tovino was born and brought up in a Syro-Malabar Catholic family. Initially, he started his career as a software engineer at Cognizant Technology Solutions, Chennai. Within few months, he left his job and started working as a model. He featured in some advertisements like Silver Storm Water Theme Park, Athirappilly, and Indulekha Hair Care Oil. In 2011, he featured in the short film Grisaille. In 2012, he worked as an assistant director in the Malayalam film Theevram, which was directed by Roopesh Peethambaran. In the same year, he got a breakthrough role in the Malayalam film Prabhuvinte Makkal. In 2015, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor Malayalam for the film Ennu Ninte Moideen.
In 2020, he was seen in the film Forensic with Mamta Mohandas, which has got a good response from the audience and a major box office success. In 2021, he is seen in Kala after the COVID-19 pandemic which got ‘A’ Certificate from the censor board.
