Earlier in 2018, actor Dhanush kick-started his second film as a director with Nagarjuna, Aditi Rao Hydari, SJ Suryah in the lead. Later in 2019, there were reports that his second directorial after his successful directorial debut with ‘Pa Paandi’ has been dropped. While the fans were waiting for Dhanush to resume the project, the latest is that he will not be directing any film for the next three years.
In a recent interation on Twitter Spaces, Dhanush himself opened up about his plans of directing films and revealed that he doesn’t see himself directing any time soon, due to his acting commitments.

Talking about it, Dhanush said, “Actually, I am also highly interest to direct a film. I have an exciting script that is so close to my heart and I want to do it soon. But, it is all about the right time. By God’s grace, I have been continuously getting opportunities to work with exciting talents. As an actor, I am able to work with directors like Mari Selvaraj, Karthik Subbaraj, Ram (Ramkumar of Ratsasan fame), and I recently met a couple of other young and talented filmmakers. The announcements regarding those projects will be made when the time is right.”
“Fortunately, I have been getting nice opportunities as an actor and I want to capitilize on that. I don’t see myself directing any film for the next three years,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dhanush is expected to return to India in two weeks, as he had completed shooting for his Hollywood film ‘The Gray Man’. He will start shooting for Karthick Narean’s film tentatively called ‘D43’ and soon as the lockdown restrictions are removed.
